Problem: When you use headphones, it’s hard for others to get your attention and it’s difficult to change the song or answer the phone if your hands are unavailable.
We present Tilt Tech! A set of wireless headphones that have a built in microphone and accelerometer. These additional IoT (internet of things) sensors: enable others to get your attention via dimmed volume upon name identification; along with gesture based function recognition to assist you with calls and controlling music. (See proof of concept videos below)
- The embedded microphone registers when your name is said and will lower the volume of the music; if you turn toward the source of the voice, the accelerometer will cause your music to then pause.
- As you tilt your head to skip / rewind a song, a soft rumble will occur to confirm the gesture. If you are receiving a phone call, a voice will prompt a yes or no gesture response.
