While taking Design Thinking, we were tasked with creating posters which challenge viewers to revisit a previously held perspective. Growing up in a community with a high percentage of homeless individuals, I wanted to try to re-shape views around the homeless population. There are many different causes for homelessness and often times people forget these individuals all have stories and previous lives – in fact, I met a Stanford graduate who became homeless due to the economy. The following posters were originally photos from Humans of New York but were photoshopped to incorporate possible background stories (such as a doctor, military personnel, olympian, or college graduate).
