The premise of our Introduction to Engineering class is to pick a problem pertaining to the quality of life in the winter and create a solution. Our team decided to tackle ice removal, as the current state of the art is exceedingly taxing and labor intensive. After several iterations depicted below, our final works-like solution appears in the following video. The Ice Buster – as we like to call it – successfully removes ice without damaging the concrete below it and does so in a fraction of the time it takes the state of the art.
